Muna II mission completed, marking the first time Kerbals have been around the Mun in decades
Year 30, Day 55
The latest and newest mission in the Muna program, Muna II, has been completed, and has made history once again, pathing the way for more missions in the future.
Only one thing can be said about this mission: that it was absolutely spectacular. Really, no one thought it would turn out "perfectly" because things almost never turn out truly perfectly for the Kerbals. But somehow... this did. It was a complete and utter success! It was truly the Kerbals' first major win in a long time, possibly since ever. This mission was one for the history books for sure.
But how did it turn out so, quote-unquote, "perfect"? Well, let's break it down step by step.
Muna II would take about 6 days to complete. 2 days to get to the Mun, 2 days orbiting, 2 days to get back home. A pretty long mission. So, who was selected for it? Well, it was none other than the Original Four Kerbonauts; Jeb, Bill, Bob, and Valentina Kerman. Why? Because the KSA wanted exposure. That's pretty much why. But also because they were the best of the best or whatever...
Anyway, back to the "perfect mission" thing; it was considered a perfect mission because literally nothing of fault happened. Nothing major, and more surprisingly, not even anything minor happened. Truly a perfect mission.
However, yes; this mission was quite splendid indeed. Though it consisted of, quite literally, NO challenges, it was one for the history books, and it paves the way for Muna III and other missions later on in the future.
P.S. from the author: This post marks the "future section" of my blog; basically, everything past here is future missions and planned IRL counterpart stuff, not stuff that has actually already happened IRL and has a counterpart.
Example: Artemis 2 IRL = Muna 2 in-game. Artemis 2 (as of this post) hasn't happened yet, but Muna 2 has; everything from now on will be future IRL mission counterparts.
